Calvin Gardner, President

Elected May 2018

Calvin GardnerCalvin Gardner, RPSGT, RST, has been dedicated and passionate member of our sleep community for over 20 years. His early sleep career started at Wake Forest Baptist Medical center in Winston-Salem N.C.  It was there that he was able to enhance his skills in Polysomnography and Electroencephalography.  In 2005, Calvin decided to pursue a leadership position in the sleep industry with a small national sleep management and DME company.   In that organization, he held roles such as Center Manager, Director of Clinical Operations, Director of Implementation, and V.P. of Operations.  In 2011, he was privileged to take on the role as the Director of the Mission Health Sleep Program.   In this role, Calvin was able to successfully grow the program to regional program within the health system comprised of six hospital-based sleep centers totaling 24 beds.

Today, Calvin is still employed with Mission Health System in a larger role as the Director of the Neuroscience Service Line, Sleep and Clinical Neurophysiology programs.  It is amazing how sleep is an interwoven thread through all of health and wellness.

Says Calvin, “It is an honor and privilege to serve on the board of the Carolina Sleep Society as President.  I look forward to working with a talented and successful group of board members, more importantly to continue to support the growth and success of our society in the advancement of Sleep Medicine.”
